Even though antarctic sea ice levels seem to have receded further than earlier they seemed to, there may be signs that the seas are (now) already refreezing, as attested by NOAA SST visual:
Now, this loosely floating ice tends to not hang around for long, and is not even registered on other sea ice trackers.
But it’s still a feat, especially since you won’t find this in other years.
If this should all (or partly) congeal and show up on other trackers (which tend to maintain a degree of minimum coverage), it would mean a significant – all of a sudden – increment.
Winter doesn’t care about your carbon footprint! Arctic blast to wallop USA! These two quotes surely underline Trump’s position and mantra “Drill baby, Drill”! Fossil fuels are needed as never before, but those believing in the Pied Piper of doomsday climate change continue to dance merrily to its tune.
NASCAR starts at Daytona Florida this week in warmer than ave temps in the low 80s. Rain showers moving through this week so it’s going to be touch and go but the overall forecast looks great 😎
Yeagh what I remember from monitoring winter weather from 1980 thru the present was the only slight increase was from about 1989 to about 2008 in January overall. Then avg temps dropped again for January. I remember 1988 being cold in SC, then it was mild in 1989, 1990,91, 92 and 93. Cold in ’94, mild in 95, normal in 96, then mild in 97,98,99. Mild in 2000, cold in 2001, mild in 2002, cold in 2003, normal 2004 and 2005. Then we had some mild ones in 2006,07,08. 09 normal, 2010 cold, 2011 cold, then mild 2012,2013. Cold in 2014, normal 2015. Normal 2016, mild 2017, cold 2018, mild 2019, 2020, Mild 21, cold in 2022, mild 2023, 2024 average and “very cold” 2025. Now that 2025 was much below average, this means that temps are starting to fall significantly since 2006. The chart shows this drop since 2005 for January.
Snow in US today from Mexi volcano if you look at the SO2 on the Windy cartoon. Heavy rain in the South US, cloud tops to 39k in Texas, a squall line from TX to KY where the SO2 meets the cold air being pulled South from the cyclone below Greenland being powered by the Mexi volcano SO2 plume in the Atlantic O. That cyclone gusting 120mph in Greenland last night.
The Gulf of Mexico is warmer than ave, 80 F, warmer than Hawaii and the Gulf Stream sea temp off NC is 76F, warmer than ave from solar activity.
We learned to watch both warm and cold fronts in school which is normal thinking.
Water temperature in Venice Beach today is 64.9°F. Based on our historical data over a period of ten years, the warmest water in this day in the Gulf of Mexico near Venice Beach was recorded in 2008 and was 69.8°F, and the coldest was recorded in 2009 at 61.3°F.

What happens when 76 volcanos erupt from solar activity in solar maximum?
